The Côte Rôtie appellation expands on 280 hectares and is situated on three districts on the right side of the Rhône river: Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône, Ampuis and Tupin-Semons. The granite soils are mostly situated on very steep terraces between 180m and 325m and can be labored only by hand. Côte Rôtie is one of France's oldest vineyards. The wine is mainly composed by Syrah (min 80%) and can contain up to 20% of Viognier grapes.

Sweet spice and subtle floral notes. Zesty acidity drives the palate with toasted cedar, roasted meat and sandalwood. Medium-bodied with moderate concentration of dark, spice-laden fruit.

15.5+ Jancis Robinson
Dark and spicy with toasted oak on the nose. Well-rounded tannins but the oak leaves a drying finish. Needs to settle to see if the fruit comes through.

Guide Hachette 2023 *
Aged for 18 months in vats & barrels, this 2020 reveals an elegant, smoky and vanilla woodiness, alongside macerated black berries. It offers a rich, unctuous and persistent mouth, marked by a floral touch of pleasant freshness. Ripe and elegant, then tighter on the finish, the tannins need to soften for a few more years. An ideal bottle to discover Côte-Rôtie.

Zesty blackberry and cassis are at the forefront of this wine, edged with nuances of leather, smoke, fur and lavender. While full bodied and luscious for a Northern Rhône Syrah, it's balanced brightly in acidity and has an earthen animal appeal. Soft in tannin, the wine is lovely already but should improve well through 2035.
89 – 92 Jeb Dunnuck - The dark fruited, meaty, powerful 2018 Côte Rôtie Grand Vin offers an inky color as well as notes of blackberries, camphor, new leather, chocolate, and crushed flowers. Rich, medium-bodied, and nicely textured, it has oustanding potential.
17+ Jancis Robinson - 100% Syrah. Aged for 15 months in oak.
Tasted blind. Sleek, succulent style with bright acidity and a lovely toasty note on the finish. Chewy texture provides enough substance for ageing (…) .
We suggest you taste this wine around a duck pot-au-feu, a beef tartare or a tournedos with foie gras.
