Du Soleil à la Terre is a micro-cuvée from vines located in the northwest of the appellation, and planted with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
The 2020 vintage was aged for a year in large French oak barrels, before being bottled at the Assemblière in February 2022.

The sort of négociant bottling that surprises in a blind tasting, Dauvergne-Ranvier's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape du Soleil a la Terre captures the elusive floral and spice essences of garrigue and adds them to black cherries, red raspberries, plus hints of clove and licorice. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, it's full-bodied and slightly tannic yet not overdone, ending with outstanding inner-mouth perfume.

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Soleil à la Terre checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, and despite being brought up older barrels, it has some distinct creamy oak on the nose. Black raspberries, spice and flowers all show as well, and it's nicely balances on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness. This ripe, sexy, textured 2020 will keep for a decade.

Beautiful profile, beautiful tannins, velvety.

Powerful and unctuous, our Châteauneuf-du-Pape will go perfectly with game (duck, venison, hare), dishes in sauce or a rib of beef grilled on vine shoots.
