No less than 13 grape varieties have been selected and blended for our Côtes du Rhône C13!
With the 3 main grape varieties, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, we have associated "brun argenté" (locally called camarèse or vaccarèse), black carignan, black cinsault, clairette rose, black counoise, gray grenache, the black marselan, the black muscardin, the black picpoul, and the black terret.
The grapes were harvested when ripe, before being destemmed. Cold pre-fermentation maceration, then vatting at controlled temperature followed, in order to express the full aromatic potential of the berries. The wine was then matured for 10 months, in vats, in order to preserve the fruity aromas.
The gaze is stopped by the depth of the very dark red dress. The nose begins to open. You have to wait and aerate the wine to understand its tremendous potential. This cuvée then offers intense aromas of black fruits (cherry, blackcurrant), violet and liquorice. In the mouth, the power is contained but very present.
