The AOP Crozes Hermitage covers a little less than 1300 hectares on the right bank of the Rhone river. From the North to the South, there are different kinds of soil: granite slopes and glacio-fluvial alluvium with terraces bearing the rounded stones of the Rhône river. The appellation was created in 1937 and produces mainly red wines made from Syrah grapes (the blend may contain up to 15% of white grapes – Marsanne or Roussanne). The white wines are produced only from these two grape varieties and represent just above 10% of the total production.
Our Crozes Hermitage comes mainly form vines planted on terraces with round pebbles mixed with red clay. It is composed at 100% by Syrah. The harvest started with a selection of the best plots in order to pick up the berries having the most freshness and fruit. Winemaking has been made at low temperature in order to preserve the aromas. We chose no ageing in oak barrels in order to keep all the fruitiness of the wine.
The colour is an almost purple deep red. The nose is dominated by black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), with a hint of red acidulated fruits (redcurrant) and violet. The palate is soft in the attack and followed by a powerful mid palate. The tannins are ripe and give a good structure which promises longevity to this young Crozes Hermitage.
Serve at 16 -17°C.

Rounded, juicy, savoury and textural. Plenty of grip, fresh berry fruit and bags of energy. Very good this year. The oak is quite forthright but it works well with the fruit. Quite tannic, so give it a year.

Opening notes of bay leaf, thyme and bramble lend a prominent herbal quality to this wine that dissipates with aeration to reveal bristling blackberry and raspberry flavors. Voluptuous and rounded on the palate yet accented by a zesty acidic spine, it’s a softly tannic, warming red that’s at peak now through 2028.

White pepper, spiced dark fruits, menthol and leafy herbs dominate the bouquet of the medium-bodied 2018 Crozes Hermitage Grand Vin, which has a fresh, lively profile, good acidity, and a clean finish. It’s going to gain complexity with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for 6-7.

Tasted blind. Smoked bacon, black cherry and dark chocolate. Rounded tannins, smooth mouthfeel, easy to drink with smoky flavours to finish."

90/100 Wine Advocate "This firm's tank-aged 2017 Crozes Hermitage Grand Vin delivers plummy aromas laced with pepper, thyme and rosemary. It's medium to full-bodied, dry but ripe, with decent concentration and lenght, plus appealing notes of cola and dried spices that emerge on the finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years"

“Fleshy, with all the roundness and the richness of the vintage, it is a consequent wine which offers a lot of fruit and body, and that you can leave to rest in cellar. A bargain at this price. "
